I have the following doubts,
Invalid input values. The allowed migrations are: CRM server to CRM server, CRM server to XML file, and XML file to CRM server.

In CRM 4.0, the Event Management Accelerator was installed. CRM was upgraded to 2011 with the accelerator installed. The Customer Portal Accelerator for CRM 2011 was then installed and I get an error when submitting an event registration.

Rated 1 Stars (out of 5) - These directions are terrible. I cant even get this thing going. First of all it doesnt even tell you, you have to download the CRM 4.0 SDK which I have done. I open the plugindeveloper folder within the CRM SDK directory now what? All of a sudden you skip to visual studio? What the hell do I have to do to get this installed?

When a user closes a case using the e-service web portal, an case resolution activity is created.. however, the time, dates and title are not filled in..

Is there any easy way to fix this?

This codeplex project is for the support of CRM 4 versions of the portals. The CRM 2011 version of the portals are supported on this forum: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/crmlabs/threads

If you are using IIS 7, please check that you are using an application pool that is set to integrated pipeline mode. If you do that, you do not have to specifically set a 404 error page - all of the settings that are necessary are in the web.config file.

You are showing some urls that are in the visual studio solution, which means that you don't really understand how the url resolution works. You should never see urls like /pages or ~/Pages/eService/ViewCases.aspx in the website itself - only in the Visual Studio project and as urls in the CRM data entity "Page Templates". Other than that, you will see content-managed urls in your portal like /cases, which resolve to a Web Page with a partial url called "cases" that is a child of the root home page.

Hi shan,

I'm using customer portal 2011 configured in IIS 7. I have set the custom 404 error to redirect to url /default.aspx. Then published solution have move to wwwroot directory. After browsing my portal i.e. http://localhost:8888/pages,

the website main is running properly. when i open any other links i.e. http://localhost:8888/ cases, the page was redirect. But sub pages is not displayed.

Rewrite url. ~/Pages/eService/ViewCases.aspx. How to solve this rewrite url.?

Hi, we need to bring the Event & forum.aspx page from customer portal to partner portal. I tried to include the event.aspx pages and created a webpage/website templates in CRm 2011 online. However, the pages are not showing up when I login to partner portal.

We are not enabling any of the frontside editing so that is not a concern at this point.

Everything seems to work okay except the ServiceContext.GetUrl(page) method seems to return the correct URL, but with port 80 post-fixed, for example https://theportal:80/cases/editCase?CaseID=52560671-2fdb-e011-9599-00505682001c

I am not entirely sure if this is IIS doing it or if I am running an older version of the portal (Downloaded in April 2011). Any ideas on how I could reliably troubleshoot the source of the port 80 post-fix?

Would a https redirect handler sort this issue out as you sugested in point 3?

Yes, but it will take a little work on your behalf. First off, are you using CRM 4 or CRM 2011?

Some things to consider:

1. You will need to use the latest SDK and update the portal to use it instead of the portal assemblies that were shipped with the accelerator

2. For the frontside editing, you will have to change the urls for the CDNs from http://apis... to //apis... to ensure that front-side editing works while in https

3. Adding code to detect http and redirect to https.

It is necessary for you to modify the workflows that are shipped as you have to adjust the urls to your specific site. There is nothing special about the workflows, so use standard CRM practices to adjust them.

You can also customize or add new entities.

Yes, you can include additional modify/add forms and control through different roles for administrators - just use the pages that implement case management as an example.

The portal framework is documented in the SDK, but the best thing is to examine the customer portal itself - we give you free source code just for that purpose. The code for the site is simple enough to be practically self-documenting.

I would like to customize the event management workflows provided as a part of the customer accelerator portal. I would also like to customize or add new entities, include modify/add forms and control through different roles for admistrators. Are these possible? Are there source code/ accelerator internals walkthrough documents to help understand the accelerator better and also help do additional customization?

The original event management accelerator was replaced last year with the customer portal accelerator for CRM 4. The customer portal accelerator was then upgraded to CRM 2011 and is available in the marketplace. See this listing: http://dynamics-crm.pinpoint.microsoft.com/en-US/applications/customer-portal-for-microsoft-dynamics-crm-2011-12884910826. The old events accelerator is now retired and it will not be upgraded to CRM 2011. All of the functionality in the events accelerator (and additional functionality) was moved into the customer portal accelerator.
