Hello

I have install and configurate the accelerator for CRM 4.0 and now I want to personalize it.
I want to see in "My Service Cases" all cases whitch I am the "referent" (custom attribute) and not whitch I am the customer (or both)

Can you help me please?

we've installed the customer portal but when we open the site, we get an error: User Authentication Failed. We are using ADFS Claims Based authentication for internal and external users.

The eService accelerator was deprecated more than 2 years ago. It was replaced with the Customer Portal accelerator (free) and the xRM Portal framework that is now in the CRM SDK. The Customer Portal accelerator was also upgraded to CRM 2011 and available in the marketplace. I would NOT recommend you use the old eService accelerator due to the legacy and inefficient code. See http://customerportal.codeplex.com/ for the replacement, or the commercial version from Adxstudio.

Help. I am stuck, for now, and was hoping someone could help me with this issue.

Let me tell you what I have done:

Moved installation to a virtual machine
Installed CRM 4.0 (90-day trial from 7/13) on SQL Server 2008
Input several instances of CRM Organization Name & CRM Server URL
Used values for the standard vpc imagefor Domain,User Name& Password
Modified my register.xmlto try to sync its values with the dialog box: Install eService Customizations

I keep getting stuck at step 2 of the installation. My eservice_install_log kicks out:

eservice_install_log

From that point, it won't let me get to step 3. I know others have had the same problem and I would appreciate any pointers. This accelerator could still help some of my customers if I could only get it installed.

The CRM solution should upgrade with no issues but you might fight with the requirement of having the CRM 4 SDK installed on the server. The entities will be unmanaged after the upgrade. You then have the option of installing the customer or partner portal solution, which will then take the unmanaged entities and turn them into managed entities from now on. Your old portal may or may not work - if you upgrade to the Customer Portal then you can use the portal code that comes with that in order to host the website. Please note that we have only tested the upgrade experience from the CRM 4 customer portal not specifically from the older eservice or events accelerator that predated the customer portal accelerator.

I have E Service Acc. installed and I am going to upgrade my CRM 4.0 to CRM 2011. WIll this upgrade the E Service acc. with it or will this fail the whole upgrade or will the upgrade for CRM go through and E Service components are just going to be left as orphan something like what happens with C360 stuff.

If you are using IIS 7, please check that you are using an application pool that is set to integrated pipeline mode. If you do that, you do not have to specifically set a 404 error page - all of the settings that are necessary are in the web.config file.

You are showing some urls that are in the visual studio solution, which means that you don't really understand how the url resolution works. You should never see urls like /pages or ~/Pages/eService/ViewCases.aspx in the website itself - only in the Visual Studio project and as urls in the CRM data entity "Page Templates". Other than that, you will see content-managed urls in your portal like /cases, which resolve to a Web Page with a partial url called "cases" that is a child of the root home page.

Hi shan,

I'm using customer portal 2011 configured in IIS 7. I have set the custom 404 error to redirect to url /default.aspx. Then published solution have move to wwwroot directory. After browsing my portal i.e. http://localhost:8888/pages,

the website main is running properly. when i open any other links i.e. http://localhost:8888/ cases, the page was redirect. But sub pages is not displayed.

Rewrite url. ~/Pages/eService/ViewCases.aspx. How to solve this rewrite url.?

Hi, we need to bring the Event & forum.aspx page from customer portal to partner portal. I tried to include the event.aspx pages and created a webpage/website templates in CRm 2011 online. However, the pages are not showing up when I login to partner portal.

We are not enabling any of the frontside editing so that is not a concern at this point.

Everything seems to work okay except the ServiceContext.GetUrl(page) method seems to return the correct URL, but with port 80 post-fixed, for example https://theportal:80/cases/editCase?CaseID=52560671-2fdb-e011-9599-00505682001c

I am not entirely sure if this is IIS doing it or if I am running an older version of the portal (Downloaded in April 2011). Any ideas on how I could reliably troubleshoot the source of the port 80 post-fix?

Would a https redirect handler sort this issue out as you sugested in point 3?

Yes, but it will take a little work on your behalf. First off, are you using CRM 4 or CRM 2011?

Some things to consider:

1. You will need to use the latest SDK and update the portal to use it instead of the portal assemblies that were shipped with the accelerator

2. For the frontside editing, you will have to change the urls for the CDNs from http://apis... to //apis... to ensure that front-side editing works while in https

3. Adding code to detect http and redirect to https.

It is necessary for you to modify the workflows that are shipped as you have to adjust the urls to your specific site. There is nothing special about the workflows, so use standard CRM practices to adjust them.

You can also customize or add new entities.

Yes, you can include additional modify/add forms and control through different roles for administrators - just use the pages that implement case management as an example.

The portal framework is documented in the SDK, but the best thing is to examine the customer portal itself - we give you free source code just for that purpose. The code for the site is simple enough to be practically self-documenting.

I would like to customize the event management workflows provided as a part of the customer accelerator portal. I would also like to customize or add new entities, include modify/add forms and control through different roles for admistrators. Are these possible? Are there source code/ accelerator internals walkthrough documents to help understand the accelerator better and also help do additional customization?

The original event management accelerator was replaced last year with the customer portal accelerator for CRM 4. The customer portal accelerator was then upgraded to CRM 2011 and is available in the marketplace. The old events accelerator is now retired and it will not be upgraded to CRM 2011. All of the functionality in the events accelerator (and additional functionality) was moved into the customer portal accelerator.
