Release Notes

The event management accelerator gives organizations the ability to manage the planning, execution, tracking and reporting requirements for events. The event management accelerator focuses on three areas of event management, namely:
  • Event Planning - logistics around an event such as:
    • Booking the venue
    • Presenters
    • Catering
    • Presentation content preparation
  • Event Attendance - all aspects around managing the attendees such as:
    • Inviting the target audience via phone, fax, letter and email
    • Managing registrations via phone, letter, fax, email and web
    • Tracking all people who actually attended the event
  • Event Review – Microsoft Dynamics CRM reports that measure the effectiveness of the event:
    • How many people attended the event?
    • What was the revenue impact of the event?

A core component of the event management accelerator is the web registration portal that customers and partners can deploy to allow web registration for their events and track these registrations in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

The solution also consists of a plugin to manage registration counts and waitlists.

Please note: this first version of the accelerator has been engineered for On-Premise deployments, the source code is supplied so that customers and partners can modify the authentication mechanism to suit their requirements.

Reviews for this release

Is there an updated version for CRM Dynamics 2011 On-Premise? Looking for this download on the latest version of this great application.

Great ideas! I am just curious, is there a missing 1 to many relationship from Campaign to Event Session in the 1.1 Release? Seems like it ought to be easier to set up your event sessions and that entity is not shown on any areas for display...

Great work!!!! The portal security model needs some work, but everything else looks great!

Top notch work for sure. Following the videos and thinking about the installation a little was easy. Customization source code would be nice. I am also looking for the setup source. Solid!

Great idea and product but not ver good with no support for service providers where we can use this for multiple customers.

Every single step of the install has caused problems! Rollup2 will not publish the workflows. Languages (Spanish, French, German) have to be installed. Currencies are causing problems. The plugin registration errors. Looks very good on the videos and demos - just cannot get it to work in real life..

I was pleased to finally get this additional peice of functionality and it certainly addresses pretty much a standard approach to event management. Could have done with this 5 months ago though as we are just completing delivery of CRM 4 with a custom Events Management application, although this is for the selling of event attendance and integrated into Dynamics GP 10. Good work thanks.

ibrc78 is correct the userid and currency id are not correct which causes problem with installation. Overall a great start. I look forward to what is coming.

The instructions are poor. References to non existent .exe's. Where is the video? Why has the largest software company in the world started something and just abandoned it. Why not finish it off or dont the partners matter anynore.

Excellent! A project just landed on my plate where this is a 99% fit!

Exciting relesae, but need clearer instructions and videos to fully tap into the release.
by praadipto on Nov 25, 2008 at 12:35 PM
I think we need more instruction, how to install and deploy
by eddielee on Nov 25, 2008 at 3:06 AM
Workflow uses user id and currency id which are not in the system. This causes problems with deployment.
